It really is as easy as it sounds. Signup and install the program, that's it.
A small program will run on your computer that will share your internet connection (but not enough for you to notice any slow-down) and earn a few cents daily.
Unlike some similar programs my virus checker has not had a problem with HoneyGain and the program does not access any personal data, browser information or anything similar.
The amount you earn varies A LOT. Mostly depending on your location (The U.S., Europe etc earning more) and internet speed. Remember you can install the program on
more than one computer, but only 1 per I.P. (so if you have a home computer and an office computer you can double your earnings).
Tips
DO NOT use it on your phone unless you are connected to wifi or you have an unlimited data plan. The amount you earn will be less than you pay for data!
Login daily, you can claim a daily bonus of $0.01 to $1.00 which really helps up your earnings. However, you will only see the bonus if you have earned a 'significant'
number of credits the day before (there is no information on exactly how many credits you need to earn). People in so-called 4th tier countries (China, most of Africa etc.)
will likely not ever see the bonus.

It's just SO easy - it really is free money.
